Bonnie Chapman, Soroptimist International of Chico President 2018-2019
President Bonnie’s focus was on Alzheimer’s Disease. SI Chico had a team for the 2018 October’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Bidwell Park. Members participated in the walk and volunteered at the event. We also hosted a community event in the Spring, Hilarity for Charity, to bring awareness to this disease and the impact it has on families in our community and beyond.

Our Fall Fundraiser Dueling Pianos on November 3, 2018 at Sierra Nevada Big Room was a big success

SI Chico took action under Bonnie’s presidency when the Camp Fire hit and put our Emergency protocol into action. We teamed up with our sister club, SI Bidwell Rancho and set up a Camp Fire PayPal account. SI Chico formed an Ad-Hoc Camp Fire Committee to help with the Camp Fire Survivors with any resources they may need. Below are some of the projects SI Chico helped with during the Camp Fire disaster. To see more photos visit our Facebook page at: Camp Fire Photos

SI Chico along with SI Bidwell Rancho was the major sponsor for Girls on the Run for the Northstate for the 2018-2019 season.

Below are some of our other projects during Bonnie’s year:
 Community Conversation about Mental Illness
Dress a Girl Service Project for 2019
We made dresses for young girls in San Juan Puerto Rico. The SI San Juan club distributed the dresses for us since they know the needs in their community still living in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in 2017.
SI Objectives Committee
Chairs Gayle Aylward and Sandi Decker partnered with our sister club, SI Bidwell Rancho, and done a seven week session at Fair View High School.
