President’s 2023-2024 Project
Cervical Cancer Prevention Campaign
Soroptimist International of Chico has chosen “Cervical Cancer Awareness and Screening” as their President’s Project for 2023-24. In addition to collaborating with the Butte County Public Health Department for an educational campaign outlining the benefits of early screening, SI Chico is partnering with Ampla Health to promote a number of Cervical Cancer Screening Clinics beginning in January, 2024. Butte County has the highest mortality rate of cervical cancer in our region. These clinics will include evening and weekend hours so that all women in our community can have access to this life saving care. Cervical cancer is preventable and treatable if detected early. Increasing accessibility to screening will save lives.
